40-32: Why Don’t We Just Forfeit the Rest of the Season?

Twins @ Brewers - Thursday, June 24, 2010

I mean, it’s already over, right? After getting swept for the umpteenth first time this season, the Twins are already out of contention only leading the division by half a game. It’s time to start thinking about a fire sale, Bill Smith.

Best hitter: Justin Morneau, -002 WPA.

Worst hitter: Denard Span, -.054 WPA.

Best pitcher: Brian Duensing, .028 WPA. The Dunce stepped in to stop the bleeding when Blac_beard decided retiring hitters is for losers. He should probably just take over for Blac_beard until Cliff Lee gets here.

Worst pitcher: Nick Blackburn, for what seems like the hundredth time this season. Apparently his contract with Satan ran out as soon as he signed that 4-year deal with the Twins.

Most important play of the game: Rickie Weeks’ 2-run bomb off of Blac_beard that put the Brewers ahead permanently, .171 WPA.
