But you're right that Gibson should spend a full year in the minors to hone his skills against AA and AAA batters. He's not Strasberg, but he could be a damn good starter for many years. Meanwhile, the team has a few good pitchers and players that could help in September, like Slama, Waldrop, Delaney, etc. Use the guys first that have paid their dues. Respect the system. It's certainly interesting what would happen if they were lumped in with the AL West teams.
